How to save money on your car fuel

Many people were cutting back on holiday treats because Petrol/Diesel nowadays really costs an arm and a leg. What about you? Are you concerned about rising petrol prices?

Below are some tips I believe can help us to conserve petrol and save money:

  • Ensure that our car is regularly serviced
  • Keep tyres properly inflated
  • Don't overload
  • Avoid over-revving
  • Use the air-conditioning or heater less
  • Carpool whenever possible
  • Buy smaller car or switch to a more efficient car
  • Planning our journey ahead

Do you have any other better ways?

I wishes all of my friends a happy, safe and joyful holiday journey!

Hi Sam...
There are so many prices rising all the time, its becoming difficult for some of us to deal with.
I guess the only clean solution to the high fuel prices would perhaps be to buy a donkey and a cart and conduct ones business in that way :)
Just teasing...but it looks like prices will just keep on rising.
Thanks for the great tips here :)
I agree very much with not 'over-revving'

Hi Sam,
Those are great tips. Our household follows those very well. we only have one vehicle and my husband's job is less then 10 miles from home. We try to run errands only once per week and our car is very fuel effecient. I hope that the United States gets on board and quits producing gas hogs. We are one of the worse polluters on the planet. A lot of our problems is materialism and the need to own big things which are harmful to all. I am not a supporter of the gas guzzling SUV's.

But things are changing and at least some of us are moving towards a better tomorrow.

Have a nice weekend.

Blessings,
Tawnya

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for sharing your valuable thoughts. Prices of everything indeed keep rising. IMHO, this problem is man's doing. Higher demand of things makes things higher in prices. Besides, Businessman wanting to make more money, go all out to push prices up... Anyway, we mustn't let these depress us.

Blessings to you, Jesse.
