How to save money on your car fuel

Many people were cutting back on holiday treats because Petrol/Diesel nowadays really costs an arm and a leg. What about you? Are you concerned about rising petrol prices?

Below are some tips I believe can help us to conserve petrol and save money:

• Ensure that our car is regularly serviced
• Keep tyres properly inflated
• Don't overload
• Avoid over-revving
• Use the air-conditioning or heater less
• Carpool whenever possible
• Buy smaller car or switch to a more efficient car
• Planning our journey ahead

Dress well for success

“We act the way we dress. Neglected and untidy clothes reflect a neglected and untidy mind.”

Although our tidy soul is much more important, we still need to dress well. Whether we like it or not, every day people are judged by the way they dress and present themselves.

You might ask. Should I be judged by what I wear? Perhaps not, but the reality is, of course, that you are judged. Failing to understand the power of projecting a strong personal image can undermine both individual and corporate credibility.

Isn't it true that the very first time when you bring your boyfriend or girlfriend home to meet your parent, it is always better to have him or her dress well to make a good impression?

Besides, we also need to dress according to the occasion. Although, some are allow wearing swimming costume for fashion show, everybody else normally should only wear it at the swimming pool or beaches. Police officer will come after us and send us to the mental hospital if we are found wearing such in any other public places.

Dressing well doesn't always have to cost a fortune. One should focus on quality not quantity. With clothes, more isn’t necessarily better. It’s better to have a few that you really love than a lot that you kind of like.

Let no one deceive you

It would be nice to think that the Internet was a safe place all the time, but that would be foolishness. Don't simply reply to emails when asked for personal information - especially financial or other sensitive information and got yourself into trouble.

You should always check the source and make sure it's trustworthy. Let's not be another online victim.

Besides, there are many reported cases that PEOPLE LIE ONLINE. There is a lot of gender-switching in Cyberspace. Why? Well, could it be because many can hide behind the safety of their computer screens thinking that they can draw more attention to themselves?

How To Work Better

Remember to put in extra effort and work smart. There is no point of telling your boss how hard you work. Tell your boss how much you get done.

Let's take a look at this story that illustrate this point:

Chuan and Jing joined a wholesale company together just after graduation. Both worked very hard.

After several years, the boss promoted Jing to sales executive but Chuan remained a sales rep. One day Chuan could not take it anymore, tender resignation to the boss and complained the boss did not value hard working staff, but only promoted those who flattered him.

The boss knew that Chuan worked very hard for the years, but in order to help Chuan realise the difference between him and Jing, the boss asked Chuan to do the following. Go and find out anyone selling water melon in the market? Chuan returned and said yes. The boss asked how much per kg?

Chuan went back to the market to ask and returned to inform boss $12/kg. Boss told Chuan, I will ask Jing the same question? Jing went, returned and said, "Boss, only one person selling water melon. $12/kg, $100 for 10kg, he has inventory of 340 melons. On the table 58melons, every melon weighs about 15 kg, bought from the South two days ago, they are fresh and red, good quality.

Chuan was very impressed and realised the difference between himself and Jing. He decided not to resign but to learn from Jing.

The moral of the story:

A more successful person is more observant, think more and understand in depth. For the same matter, a more successful person sees several years ahead, while you see only tomorrow. The difference between a year and a day is 365 times, how could you win? Think! How far have you seen ahead in your life? How thoughtful in depth are you?

Who is the wise man?

A wise man is one who learns from all men. Learning only from our own experience is like learning the traffic rules by accident.

Wise men know not many things, but useful things. We don't need to know many things to succeed, if we know the few things that are important.

Smart men start where others leave off. From others they learn to correct and often avoid their own mistakes. It takes a smart man to recognize a wise man and a smarter one to learn from him.
