Who is really charitable?

No man is so poor as to have nothing worth giving.

“Lots of people think they're charitable if they give away their old clothes and things they don't want.” - Myrtle Reed

"Not he who has much is rich, but he who gives much."

“True charity is the desire to be useful to others without thought of recompense” - Emanuel Swedenborg

"Blessed are those who can give without remembering, and take without forgetting."

"Seek joy in what you give; not in what you get."

“The manner of giving is worth more than the gift.” - Pierre Corneille

"It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving." - Mother Teresa

The Bible tell us how to do good in Matthew 6:1-4 (NKJV) -

"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly."
