Working Together Works

“Finding good players is easy. Getting them to play as a team is another story.” - Casey Stengel

Have you ever wondered why a particular player is not selected in a team? Possibly, this player is excellent as an individual player but is not willing to sacrifice personal acclaim for the good of the team.

In like manner at work, there may be an excellent employee but if he is not walking that extra mile in harmony with his colleagues, he is of no use.

“There is music wherever there is harmony, order, or proportion.” - Thomas C. Haliburton

Each member of an orchestra has to play the notes on his instrument so that the net outcome is music. If every musician plays a different note, the result will be clashing noise.

Even in a boat race, the fastest team is the one whose members move the oars in perfect unison and most forcefully.

“We should work in unison and with co-operation because disunity leads to problems and failures.” - Atharva Veda

Do you have problem working together? Have you experience working with an elite group and finding it tough to have a good team?
