The True measure of a man

Deeds, not creeds, are the true measure of a man.

Deeds are fruits, words are leaves. A good deed is one that brings a smile of joy to the face of another.

“Love is shown in your deeds, not in your words.” - Fr. Jerome Cummings

“It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation, and only one bad one to lose it” - Benjamin Franklin

"Well done is better than well said." - Benjamin Franklin

"A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love." - Saint Basil the Great

The bible in Matthew 7:11-12 (NKJV) tell us that

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

HI Sam.

Your site really lives up to its name.

Long ago I was a philosophy major, but it's really good to see someone who puts his Christian faith out front.

I see the "Through the Bible in One Year" link under Tools to Acquire Wisdom. That, too, is refreshing. I'm working on this for this year and loving every word. I feel bad for those who want human proof for everything. To me, if you believe, the proof is all over the place.

thanks for inviting me to stop by. I'll be back for refreshment from time to time.

Best,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your encouragement and support.

You are right, indeed there are many proof everywhere and yet many seeks for a sign just like what recorded in Matthew 12:38-40
"Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You." (39) But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. (40) For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Hope to see you again soon.
Thank you.
