Be a great teacher

Nowadays, not many want to be a teacher. Besides, some teachers are not doing a good job in school. Many school teachers prefer to give their best effort in tuition class. That’s why tuition centre has become so popular nowadays. Anyway, this world really needs a lot of great teachers.

Different kind of teachers
"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." - William Arthur Ward

Elements of Great Teaching
"A teacher who is attempting to teach without inspiring the pupil with a desire to learn is hammering on cold iron." - Horace Mann

"Teachers who cannot keep students involved and excited for several hours in the classroom should not be there." - John Roueche

“A wise teacher makes learning a joy.” - Proverb

"Professors known as outstanding lecturers do two things; they use a simple plan and many examples." - W. McKeachie

Values and Price to pay
"Good teachers are costly, but bad teachers cost more." - Bob Talbert

"No man can be a good teacher unless he has feelings of warm affection toward his pupils and a genuine desire to impart to them what he himself believes to be of value." - Bertrand Russell

He who ceases to learn cannot adequately teach. A good teacher is one whose students surpass him and makes him increasingly less necessary. The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book.

Do you have great teachers? What do you like about your teachers?

Quickly learn all you can from others

Who is the wise man?. To succeed early in life, choose the quickest way: Learn all you can from others. We can't learn enough soon enough from our own experience to succeed when young.

Do you know that you learn when you teach? Ensure you have perfected your own effective learning skills. Follow no one but learn from everyone.

The winner does in the beginning what the failure does not in the end - learns from others.

"Learn all you can from others. The school of experience takes so long that the graduates are too old to go to work." - Henry Ford

You won't understand unless you are one!

"Not everyone can be an orphan." - Andre Gide

"One father is more than a hundred Schoolmasters." - George Herbert

The parents' life is the child's copybook. Two parents teach more than 20 teachers.

The Bible in James 1:27 (NIV) tell us that "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Kerry Dale Hancock Jr, started a new blog (www.fallenfathers.blogspot.com) today to help those who grew up without their father. Please do pass this along. Thank you.

The Value of Education

The young think education can replace experience; the old think experience can replace education. Both are wrong. Both are needed. If youth only knew. If age only could.

Education is difficult and expensive. But whatever it costs, it's cheaper than ignorance.

"Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school."- Albert Einstein

"It's not what is poured into a student that counts, but what is planted." - Linda Conway.

The Powers of Words

Do not underestimate the powers of words.

Confucius was once asked what he would do if he were to be made the Emperor of China. Without hesitation, he said, "I would teach my people with great inspiring words, so that by the use and application of these words, they shall grow strong."

Don't be afraid to make mistakes

If you do not make mistakes, it only means you are not trying 100 percent.

"All men make mistakes, but only wise men learn from their mistakes." - Winston Churchill.

Those who never make mistakes lose a great many chances to learn something.

Mistakes are the best teachers. The minor mistake is sometimes a major improvement.

You learn when you teach

Knowledge increases in proportion to its use - that is, the more we teach the more we learn.

Resolve to observe or learn something new every day. It'll keep you mentally sharp and youthful. The genuine beauty of acquiring knowledge is that you can learn anytime.

Learning something new requires making mistakes. It involves trial and error. So do not be afraid to make mistakes. Learn like children do. Learn all you can from old people. They've gone over the road you must travel.

Effective Learning

Learning how to learn is life's most important skill.

Those who don't read good books have no advantage over those who can't.

It is true that we learn by listening, yet we don't listen. All experiences are opportunities for us to learn and grow. We learn more when we teach.

When we acquire knowledge only intellectually, we will never learn. We can learn only by doing. Learn from the past to improve the future. It is better to learn from the experience of others.
