Life's Obstacles

We learn and grow most when we face the most extremes of weather, obstacles, political parties, and points of view. Obstacles are power generators. We should look upon problems and obstacles as test questions or challenges.

Obstacles are those pesky things that hinder us only when we lost sight of our goal. The only sure guard against troubles and obstacles is a long term goal.

"Sometimes things which at the moment may be perceived as obstacles -- and actually be obstacles, difficulties, or drawbacks -- can in the long run result in some good end which would not have occurred if it had not been for the obstacle." - Steve Allen

"Others can stop you temporarily - you are the only one who can do it permanently." - Zig Ziglar

Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now.

With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” - Mark Victor Hansen

"It's the constant and determined effort that breaks down all resistance and sweeps away all obstacles." - Claude M. Bristol

Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don't succeed, try another way. For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. The greatest mistake is giving up.

Let's learn to consider obstacles as an opportunity to grow stronger and more competent. So keep going regardless of the obstacles.

I would appreciate it very much if you do share how you overcome obstacles.

Be Thankful Always!

Let's remember to appreciate and treasure each day, because we don't know how many we're going to be given.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

Forget difficulties, but not the lessons learned from them.

The Value of Difficulties

Man has a hidden treasure within. Difficulties and setbacks bring it forth.

Stop Taking Things for Granted

Once upon a time, there was a non-conforming sparrow who decided not to fly south for the winter. However, when the weather turned very cold he reluctantly started to fly southwards. In a short time ice began to form on his wings and he fell to earth in a farmyard, almost frozen to death. A cow passed by and crapped on the little sparrow. The sparrow thought it was the end. But the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings. Warm and happy, able to breath, he started to sing. Just then a large cat came by and hearing the chirping, found out where it was coming from, clawed away the manure, found the chirping bird and promptly ate him.

The moral of the story is:

  1. Everyone who shits on you is not necessarily your enemy
  2. Everyone who gets you out of the shits is not necessarily your friend
  3. And if you're warm and happy in a pile of shit, keep your mouth shut.

I'd rather not to speak

It ain't what you say, it's the way that you say it - that's what get results. Mouth is 10%; eyes is 20%; head is 30% and heart is 40%!

Sharp dagger only wounds the flesh, but a sharp tongue can wound the spirit.

A slip of the foot, you'll soon recover; a slip of the tongue may last forever.

How many of us have realized that since we were given two ears and one mouth it might be that we were intended to listen twice as much as we speak.

We all can get into trouble if we do not know how to tame our tongue.
