Life's Obstacles

We learn and grow most when we face the most extremes of weather, obstacles, political parties, and points of view. Obstacles are power generators. We should look upon problems and obstacles as test questions or challenges.

Obstacles are those pesky things that hinder us only when we lost sight of our goal. The only sure guard against troubles and obstacles is a long term goal.

"Sometimes things which at the moment may be perceived as obstacles -- and actually be obstacles, difficulties, or drawbacks -- can in the long run result in some good end which would not have occurred if it had not been for the obstacle." - Steve Allen

"Others can stop you temporarily - you are the only one who can do it permanently." - Zig Ziglar

Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now.

With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” - Mark Victor Hansen

"It's the constant and determined effort that breaks down all resistance and sweeps away all obstacles." - Claude M. Bristol

Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don't succeed, try another way. For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. The greatest mistake is giving up.

Let's learn to consider obstacles as an opportunity to grow stronger and more competent. So keep going regardless of the obstacles.

I would appreciate it very much if you do share how you overcome obstacles.

Hi Sam,

Working in a industry that is cut-throat and very result-oriented, sometimes it is a heartbreak when I realize my methods are not suited for that age-group, or that the reception is only lukewarm, or that the results are quite mediocre.

Thank you for this post- it is a booster- if I am failing, mayb the obstacle would help me, or I would grow stronger and get other methods.

THank u sam..

Hi Sam...

Great topic.

This is one of the many challenges I have... it is VERY easy for me to give up and I am not very good at working through obstacles!

One little not-so-great day or experience and I want to give up! (sigh)

So, I need all the advice you have to share! :-)

:-)

Hi Winston,

You are right! It is indeed quite challenging nowadays especially in business world. Customers are getting more and more demanding. Nevertheless all these challenges or obstacles are good to make one stronger in long run as long as one don't resolve to evil ways.

Blessings to you, Winston.

Hi Jennifer...
Indeed, it is not easy to overcome some obstacles especially by ourselves. That's why we need to learn to seek help from God, friends and love one. Well, I believe one of the good ways is to work closely with those that share the same goal and learn to encourage one another.

Have a great day, Jennifer.

Hi Sam!

Good post that reminds us to appreciate the value of obstacles in life!

Our natural instinct is to hate and resists obstacles. But like I always say that Ying & Yang of life are like two sides to the same coin. We have to learn to value the two sides.

Blessings and thanks for the good post!

Rightly said Sam, that inspite of obstacles we should not lose sight of our goals.Nor we should get depressed.
The obstacles to the lower creatures are opportunities to the higher life of man.
A great motivating post.

Hi Sam,

The way I find that works for me is to keep my eye on the goal and not the obstacle. Then break the obstacle down into baby steps and and tackle it one step at a time if necessary to get past it!
