Looking in different perspectives

Everyone will definitely continue to face trials and hardships, but what actually made the difference? The main reason that made the difference is their way of viewing hardship and bad luck. It is their perspective in life that caused the change.

"In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity." - Albert Einstein

"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty" - Winston Churchill

"I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work." - Thomas Edison

Imagine what would happen if Thomas Edison decided to give up because he feels that he would fail miserably? What would happen? Well, we would then had been living in the dark for the past 20 century! With that, we do not need any earth hour no more.

That's difficult or impossible!

If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it.” - Jesse Jackson

“Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.” - Peter T. Mcintyre

If all the world says, 'No!' it is your business to say, 'Yes!' and prove it."

The world says, "No!" in a thousand ways:
"No! You can't do that."
"No! You are wrong."
"No! You are too old."
"No! You are too young."
"No! You are too weak."
"No! It will never work."
"No! You don't have the education."
"No! You don't have the background."
"No! You don't have the money."
"No! It can't be done."

And each "No!" you hear has the potential to erode your confidence bit by bit until you quit altogether. Though the world says, "No!" to you today, will you determine to say, "Yes!" and prove it?

Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't do this or that. Never, never let them persuade you that things are too difficult or impossible.

Don't get discouraged or depressed

"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." - Henry David Thoreau

“How you look at a situation is very important, for how you think about a problem may defeat you before you ever do anything about it.

When you get discouraged or depressed, try changing your attitude from negative to positive and see how life can change for you. Remember, your attitude toward a situation can help you to change it -- you create the very atmosphere for defeat or victory.” - Franco Harris

“The hardest thing you can do is smile when you are ill, in pain, or depressed. But this no-cost remedy is a necessary first half-step if you are to start on the road to recovery.” - Allen Klein

"Pain is no evil unless it conquers us." - George Eliot

"It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." - Epictetus

"Don't go through life, grow through life." - Eric Butterworth

Remember to always Think Positive!

“There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative.” - W. Clement Stone

When we are feeling blue and depressed, does it really make sense to say: "I am joyous, happy, glad, etc."? Yes, it surely does.

Forcing positive thoughts drives away our negatives. We can't think two opposite thoughts at the same time. By changing your thoughts, you change your attitude and your feeling. Even the Bible says: Let the weak say I am strong.

Keep your mind filled with positive thoughts and there'll be no room for negatives. That's the whole purpose of affirmations - to keep our minds positive.

Finding positive out of every negative - which we don't always often do.
  • For the husband or wife who snores all night, because he or she is at home asleep with me and not with someone else.
  • For the taxes that I pay because it means that I am employed.
  • For the mess to clean after a party because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
  • For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.
  • For a floor that needs mopping, and windows that need cleaning because it means I have a home.
  • For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means that we have the freedom of speech.
  • For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
  • For the pile of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.
  • For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I am still alive.
Don't just stop at Positive Thinking
However, you'll develop more power, physical, mental, or any skill in 30 minutes of practice than in 20 years of positive thinking.

No one ever became a champion athlete or master musician in 20 years of positive thinking about music or athletics UNLESS he ALSO PRACTICED. Likewise, your living will only improves when you do all that is necessary for the positive change!

Have a sense of humor

“If I had no sense of humor, I would long ago have committed suicide.” - Mahatma Gandhi

Humor helps us to think out of the box. The average child laughs about 400 times per day, the average adult laughs only 15 times per day. What happened to the other 385 laughs?”

Competence Starts with feeling competent

"Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are." - Forbes

It is important to have good self-esteem. Good self-esteem gives you the courage to try new things and the power to believe in yourself. It lets you respect yourself, even when you make mistakes. If you think you're important, you'll be less likely to follow the crowd who might be doing something dumb or dangerous. You value your safety, your feelings, your health - your whole self!

Be Thankful Always!

Let's remember to appreciate and treasure each day, because we don't know how many we're going to be given.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

Be courageous in good deed

Courage is the willingness to do the things you know are right. Do the thing you fear, and fear will disappear.

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy - Dale Carnegie.

Courage is not the absence of fear; it's the conquest of fear.

Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others.

Control your thoughts

Our mind is a "Thoughts Factory". It can produce either positive or negative thoughts. Ideas of others are our raw materials.

Our thoughts control our life. But we control our thoughts. We are free to think success thoughts - positive thoughts or failure - negative thoughts.

Positive thinking and a positive mental attitude are about the same as keeping our highest moment permanent.

There is a limit to the intensity of any resolution. There is also a limit as to how long it will last. But, fortunately, there is no limit to how often we can renew it. Auto Suggestion - talking to ourselves is one of the most effective of all methods in keeping our highest moments permanent.
