The Secret to Happiness

“It isn't what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.” - Dale Carnegie

"The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for." - Allan K. Chalmers

Many people spend a lifetime searching for happiness. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within. You can only bring happiness to yourself. Nothing else will.

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. Happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. It is not the absence of problems but the ability to deal with them.

Happiness comes whenever our work and words are beneficial to ourselves and others. May we always bring forth happiness to others wherever we go.

Do you have the secret to Happiness?

Happy Valentine's Day

To my lovely wife, Jenny!

To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world.

Thank you for all the moments we shared for our wonderful family! You can spoil me but don't spoil our children. Love is All We Need.

Love is indeed a strong word, easy to spell but difficult to define and impossible to live without. Because of you I've learned what love is really meant to be; because of you there's happiness in every day for me and our children.

Thank you for all your love and kindness.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.

Wondrous Power Of A Hug

Although many of the social and behavioral aspects of everyday life vary greatly from country to country, know that there is wondrous power a hug can do.

Our world and culture needs more hugs. A hug can convey the greatest empathy and sympathy. It can bring healing.

“A Hug is Two Hearts Wrapped In Arms.

"A Hug is a Handshake from the Heart."

"A Hug is Welcome back again!"

“Hugs can do great amounts of good - especially for children.” - Princess Diana

“They invented hugs to let people know you love them without saying anything.” - Bil Keane

Hugs can relieve pain and depression.. Hugging feels good and overcomes fear... It provides stretching exercise to short people and stooping exercise to tall people... It saves heat and energy... Hugging makes happy days happier.

So stretch your arms and hug your child today, hug your spouse today, hug a friend today and hug your Mom or Dad!

Spend time with your family

"The size of your heart is more important than the size of your home."

"Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for their parents. Parents have very little time for each other, and in the home begins the disruption of peace of the world." - Mother Teresa

The dearest possession we have is our family. Togetherness is a very important ingredient to family life. The way to stay close is to do things together and share.

"Destroy the family, you destroy the country."

"Your family and your love must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing." - Jim Rohn

"Family is what grounds you." - Angelina Jolie

"The wisdom you leave your children is more important than any wealth you might leave them."

There's no place like home. Do cherish your relationships with your family by spending time with your family members. If you ever heard any of your family members says that their home is like a hotel then something needs to be rectified quickly.

A Happy Marriage

My brother-in-law got married last week and today I came across a post - "Why we wear wedding ring on the fourth finger". These inspired me to write this post.

According to Wikipedia, a wedding ring symbolizes marriage: a spouse wears it to indicate a marital commitment to fidelity.

"All marriages are happy. It's living together afterwards that is difficult."

"The first year of marriage is like wet cement - the impressions made in it are much harder to change once it has set." - Robert Wolgemuth

"Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate." - Barnett R. Brickner

"A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, but always with the same person." - Mignon McLaughlin

"What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility." - George Levinger

"Ultimately the bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in friendship, is conversation." - Oscar Wilde

"Let the wife make her husband glad to come home and let him make her sorry to see him leave." - Martin Luther

There is an advice: "It is better for a woman to marry a man who loves her than a man she loves." What do you think? Do you agree? Looking forward to hear from anybody who is willing to share his or her experience.

Let us always meet each other with a smile

Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.

We smile because we are happy. BUT we also become happy because we smile. Act the part and you'll become the part.

Most smiles are started by other smiles. Smile first.

Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other -- it doesn't matter who it is -- and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other." - Mother Teresa

Have a sense of humor

“If I had no sense of humor, I would long ago have committed suicide.” - Mahatma Gandhi

Humor helps us to think out of the box. The average child laughs about 400 times per day, the average adult laughs only 15 times per day. What happened to the other 385 laughs?”

“A sense of humor is part of the art of leadership, of getting along with people, of getting things done” - Dwight David Eisenhower

“A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.” - Henry Ward Beecher

“You can turn painful situations around through laughter. If you can find humor in anything, even poverty, you can survive it.” - Bill Cosby

Where there is love there is life!

"Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop."

Photo 1"Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor... Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting." - Mother Theresa

Photo 2"True love is like a pair of socks: you gotta have two and they've gotta match."

"Life without Love is like a harp without strings."

"Relationships--of all kinds--are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled. A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost." - Kaleel Jamison

In the bible, Jesus Christ tells us in John 15:12-13.. "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends."

Be Thankful Always!

Let's remember to appreciate and treasure each day, because we don't know how many we're going to be given.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

Laugh often to have a great day

“A laugh is a smile that bursts.” - Mary H. Waldrip

"The ability to laugh together is the essence of love." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Couples who laugh together stay together."

Jim Valvano said “To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.”

Learn to share

The Value of Laughter

Laughter is the best exercise, the cheapest medicine, the cheapest vacation, the cheapest tonic, it stirs the blood, exercises the chest, stimulates the nerves, chases fear, prevents ulcers, cures the blues, relaxes strangers, wins friends and gives all a cleansing rehabilitation.
