Do you believe there is God?

This is a QA Exchange Question

Indeed, there are many who believe in God and they are also many who do not believe in God.

If you would like to give an account of why you believe or why you do not believe in God, please share it via QA Exchange.

Below are some good quotes for you to ponder:

"People see God every day, they just don't recognize him." - Pearl Bailey

"Maybe the atheist cannot find God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman." - Anonymous

"I believe in God; I just don't trust anyone who works for him." - Anonymous

"Darkness cannot put out the Light. It can only make God brighter." - Anonymous

Do you know where is your strength?

Many always looking outside for strength and confidence but it comes from within. It is there all the time.

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” - Mahatma Gandhi

The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way.” - Robert Kiyosaki

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.” - Arnold Schwarzenegger

“He who gains a victory over other men is strong; but he who gains a victory over himself is all powerful.” - Lao Tzu

Strength comes from struggle; weakness from ease. Everything that ceases to struggle slowly begins dying. Observe your friends. As soon as they quit working, they begin dying.

How to be happy?

This is a QA Exchange Question

Have you sit down and ponder what really makes a person happy?

Is it money, possession or achievement?
Well, if you think you know the answer or would like to suggest some solutions, please post it at QA Exchange.

Thank you.

Source of All Knowledge - QA Exchange

“The art and science of asking questions is the source of all knowledge.” - Thomas Berger

There are no foolish questions and no man becomes a fool until he has stopped asking questions” - Charles P. Steinmetz

Although many of us know that there is Wisdom in Asking Questions, we still at times do not ask questions when we do not understand. Why? The following excerpt could be one of the reasons:

"Researchers have found that a fascinating change takes place in schoolchildren. When they begin their studies, strong and weak students show an equal willingness to ask questions when they do not understand. However, as they get older and begin to understand their relative position in the class, students, especially weaker students, become reluctant to ask questions and reveal what they do not know." - Source: 100 Simple Secrets of Successful People by David Niven

“If there is something to gain and nothing to lose by asking, by all means ask!” - W. Clement Stone

The following are typical problems that some of us are facing:
  • There are just too many blogs or websites to search through; thus it is difficult to find solutions or answers
  • One needs to spent a lot of time to sift through thread of messages; yet still could not find the solution
  • One may not or don't know how to post questions; thus have to live with the problems unsolved
  • One could not find or could have posted to the wrong forum; thus nobody answer questions posted
  • One find it difficult to get somebody to visit or read their blogs or websites
To resolve the above problems, I am starting a blog for QA exchange. I had posted the Rules and How this works at Solutions Repository (http://solutions-repos.blogspot.com).

Although this may looks like a meme but this project is different from meme where anybody can post questions and anybody can answer questions posted. Thus, there is no need to tag somebody who might not be interested at all. Only those interested will be participating in QA Exchange! Besides, preferably only unique questions (can still have different version if necessary) will be posted and questions are moderated and stored at Solutions Repository for those seeking answers or solutions.

Below are some of the benefits of having QA exchange:
  • You can get a lot of answers (by different bloggers / websites owners) to your question
  • Answer comes to you instead of you having to search for it
  • Those that don't ask question can still get answers to questions posted by somebody
  • Those participate in Questions or Answers (QA Exchange) can get a lot of good link exchanges because of related topics
  • Your blog got publicized and thus can get a lot of good traffics from interested readers
  • Questions can suggest more interesting topics for blogs / websites
  • Different answers can promote more interesting interactions among bloggers
What do you think?
Do you want to participate in this QA Exchange project?

The Art of Listening

Listen to everyone
Listen to those who love you and those who don't; to those who bore you; even to your enemies. It work a small miracle, and perhaps a great one.

Listen to what hasn't been said
Listen to what has been said, and especially to the unspoken - therein lie nuggets of truth and beauty.

Listen to your inner self

Learn to listen to the whispers of your heart and your soul; of what's right and what's not. You know so much more than you give yourself credit for.

Listen more than you speak
The less we speak, the more we listen. The more we listen , the more we learn.

Listen without interrupting
It takes courage to stand up and speak, and even more courage to sit down and listen.

Listen with absolute patience
Words don't come easily to everyone. Yet each person has something to say. So keep on listening and be rewarded with words of wisdom.

From the Internet, I've managed to gather some attributes of good bosses.

Good bosses:-

  • Treat all employees fairly and equally.
  • Speak to employees with respect.
  • Encourage initiative and decision-making on the job.
  • Clearly define job duties and deadlines.
  • Praise employees in public but correct in private.
  • Show appreciation and thank employees for any contributions
Indeed, some bosses really do deserve praise. But many don't. Anyway, do you think it is better to work for a bad boss at a good company or a good boss at a weak company?

Get Wisdom! Get Understanding!

“It is better to listen in order to understand than to listen in order to reply

"When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. Fear of being too old to succeed

The one constant in our life is change: changing roles, new demands, multiple projects, more responsibility and constantly juggling priorities in the workplace. We are time-starved and work-hurried.

In our rush to reach our goals, many suffer from all kinds of ailments such as high blood pressure, heart-stroke or ulcers. One shouldn't be proud to have these kinds of diseases, sort of a "success symbol" that they are the fast-paced people on the fast-track.

Forget about your age, just set out with your objectives, it may take some time but don't push it or else you may not be able to enjoy the fruit of your labour.

A story to illustrate this point:

Once there was a farmer who was very anxious to see his paddy (rice) plant grow fast and tall. After just sowing the seeds, he would just keep on watching day in and day out to see how much it had grown. By the time the seedlings had grown a couple of inches higher, he could not longer wait anymore and decided to "help" the paddy plants grow faster. Thus one day he pulled each one of the plant taller by an inch or so. You can guess what happened to all the plants the next day. So don't force it.

Develop Good Character

According to C. Watts "Character is doing what's right when nobody's looking."

Abraham Lincoln says: "Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing."

He also said that "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

Well, it is true that some people pay so much attention to their reputation that they lose their character.

We ought to guard well our thoughts; they soon become acts. guard well our acts; they soon become habits. guard well our habits; they shape our character, our career, our fortune.

"Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it, piece by piece - by thought, choice, courage, and determination." - H. Jackson Brown

"When you choose your friends, don't be short-changed by choosing personality over character." - W. Somerset Maugham

"Personality can open doors; only character can keep them open."
